Capital appoints new CEO
London-listed mining services company Capital has appointed Peter Stokes as its new CEO, with effect from October 3.
Stokes will be based in Perth where the company has an established office and presence. He will also join the board as an executive director.
Jamie Boyton remains executive chairperson.
"Stokes' appointment as CEO of Capital marks the next phase of the company's growth strategy. [His] experience in running large and complex businesses across many different markets, as well as his considerable experience in the metals and mining industry, makes him ideal to take over the leadership of the business as it continues to grow rapidly," Boyton says.
Boyton will oversee the handover period with Stokes over the ensuing six-month period.
"Capital . . . is entering a significant and sustainable phase of its growth strategy. I am very much looking forward to working with the entire team and the board in continuing to deliver value to all of our stakeholders as Capital enters the next chapter of its development,” Stokes comments.
Stokes has more than 25 years of senior executive experience in the resources and logistics industries. He most recently served as Toll Group president of global logistics.
Prior to that, he was Barminco's CEO.
Before joining Barminco, he served as Linfox COO and, before that, worked at Accenture for 11 years, where he was a partner for the final two years.
Stokes holds qualifications in advanced management from Harvard Business School, an MBA from Bond University, a master of applied science in mining and mineral technology from Western Australian School of Mines, and a BSc with honours in geology from the University of Western Australia.
