Project Description
The project envisages an operation with a production capacity of 1.27-million tonnes of alumina, 50-million tonnes of gallium and about 2-million tonnes of bauxite. All three materials are included in the EU’s list of critical raw materials (CRMs).
The project includes:
- the development of research and new bauxite mining deposits,
- the construction of new facilities and the procurement of mechanical equipment for gallium production,
- new facilities and equipment for the expansion and modernisation of alumina production capacity,
- energy supply infrastructure for the industrial unit,
- port expansion and upgrades, and
- other road infrastructure and flood protection projects.
