Battery metals company Patriot Resources has appointed mining engineer and finance professional Dominic Duggan as its new CEO.

Duggan brings more than a decade of experience across iron-ore, gold and base metals operations, spanning both underground and openpit environments. He has held senior operational and functional leadership roles, including at Rio Tinto, with experience in mine finance and working with First Nations partners on commercial, heritage and planning matters.

Patriot chairperson Hugh Warner said the board was pleased with the appointment. "Dom’s technical experience and management experience of large projects is just what we need to develop the high-grade Tassa silver and gold project in Peru. We believe that Tassa can become a major silver and gold deposit, in the near future.”

“So we need to plan for success and bring in experienced operators to make it happen.”

Patriot in December announced the acquisition of the Tassa project.

Warner said he looked forward to working with Duggan and the company’s technical team as Patriot advances its Peruvian Tassa project, its polymetallic discovery in Zambia and its Gorman lithium project in Canada.
