Corrosion is an insidious enemy of industrial assets, silently deteriorating structures, machinery and equipment across a range of industries. Whether it is the pipelines in an oil refinery, the hull of a marine vessel, or the machinery in a manufacturing plant, corrosion can strike anywhere, leading to catastrophic failures, safety hazards and significant financial losses.

For industry professionals, corrosion is not just a maintenance issue but a critical challenge that impacts operational efficiency, safety and profitability.

Understanding these pain points underscores the necessity for robust corrosion protection strategies. It is not just about preserving the aesthetic appearance of assets but ensuring their functionality, safety and longevity. Belzona’s advanced corrosion protection solutions are engineered to withstand the harsh operating environments found in various industries, offering industry-leading technology designed to tackle these challenges head-on.

About Belzona

Founded in 1952, Belzona provides top-quality materials combined with the technical expertise and service required to meet the demands of a variety of industries. From full turnkey systems to simple in-situ repairs, Belzona’s innovative materials address a range of industrial issues, including erosion, corrosion, chemical attack, abrasion, wear, water penetration and weathering.

Belzona materials offer simple, safe and effective means to assist with these concerns by:

  • Simplifying maintenance procedures: Eliminating the need for disassembly, welding, post-weld heat treatment, and other hot work.
  • Reducing downtime: Providing rapid cure and easy-to-apply materials.
  • Decreasing maintenance and replacement costs: Increasing asset availability and reliability.
  • Enhancing safety: Facilitating in-situ cold work with solvent-free materials.

Belzona’s Corrosion Protection Solutions

Engineering composites: Corrosion-resistant materials for repairing, rebuilding, sealing and bonding rigid components without the need for hot work or specialist tools. These materials offer excellent adhesion to metals and many other substrates.

Protective linings: Polymeric coatings designed to protect and upgrade surfaces against erosion, corrosion, abrasion and chemical attack. These linings cover a wide range of surfaces temperatures and operating conditions.

Flexible polymers: Elastomeric materials for rebuilding, coating and casting flexible components where high elasticity and toughness are required. These durable composites are cold-applied with simple tools and cure at ambient temperatures.

Construction polymers: Polymeric composites for repairing and resurfacing concrete, stone-work and other cementitious surfaces, providing high abrasion resistance and compressive strength. These non-porous mate-rials allow for rapid application and curing times compared with traditional alternatives.

Environmental barrier polymers: Engineered to protect equipment and structures and reduce environmental impact, these coatings resist exposure to a wide range of chemicals, temperatures and UV radiation.

Polymeric membranes: Liquid-applied coatings for waterproofing and protecting roofs and insulation. These breathable membranes allow moisture in the substrate to evaporate while remaining watertight and flexible enough to accommodate substrate movement.

Safety surfacing polymers: Liquid-applied grip systems provide positive traction in risk areas such as steps, ramps and floors. Their hard-wearing properties and durability make them ideal for industrial and high-traffic environments.

Bonding, chocking and grouting compounds: 100% solids, cold-applied materials designed to endure the physical and thermal shock common in industrial and marine environments. These materials are Lloyds Register, DNV GL and ABS approved, formulated to achieve full contact with the surface, providing effective bonding, alignment and anchorage.

Compliant Pressurised and Safety Critical System Repair

Belzona Superwrap II is a unique combination of a 100% solids resin, carbon  and glass fibre reinforcement sheet and a compression film which ensures a quick and simple application that can remain maintenance-free for up to 20 years.  Belzona Superwrap II was designed with the asset owners and contractors in mind: the system is easy to apply and performs very well in service, ensuring a long-term solution is achieved.
