A scoping study has suggested the development of the North and South pits at a production rate of 1.8-million tonnes a year over a 14-year mine life.

About 65% of the ore is located within the North pit, with the remainder in the South.

Following the positive scoping study in 2024, work continues on assessing new technologies that may assist in upgrading the feed grade. 

A report on the processing testwork completed to date is expected during the third quarter of the 2025 financial year. The outcomes of these assessments will assist in determining how best to derive further value from the project.

Specialist studies required by the regulators for the Volspruit project are being finalised to allow for the submission of the water-use licence application during the third quarter of the 2025 financial year.

The final environmental impact-assessment (EIA) report and associated environmental management programme for the amendment of the EIA were submitted at the end of the first quarter of the 2025 financial year. A decision from the competent authority is expected during the third quarter of the 2025 financial year.
