South Africa-based welding and fabrication equipment supplier AR Industrial is demonstrating Finnish-brand Kemppi’s new multi-process and multivoltage welding solution for demanding industrial applications at Electra Mining Africa 2018. This is the latest technology in welding incorporating Industry 4.0, or the Internet of Things. Kemppi is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of industrial arc welding equipment and a provider of solutions for highly productive welding.

“We will showcase the future of welding – an ecosystem approach that comprises advanced machines, automation, application software, management systems and human skills. This approach takes advantage of the full potential of the Internet of welding by connectivity, cloud-enabled solutions and software,” says AR Industrial welding solutions product manager Angelo Pillay.

Kemppi’s flagship product, the X8 metal inert gas (MIG) Welder, enables extreme performance, supreme usability, and is always at the right parameters. Developed, designed and manufactured in Finland, the X8 MIG Welder introduces the digital welding procedure specification (WPS) function, which improves quality control and renders the printed WPS unnecessary.

The function is enabled by native connectivity with WeldEye, a universal solution to manage welding production, for welding procedure and qualification management software.

Kemppi’s X8 MIG Welder is a ground-breaking multiprocess solution. Its advanced technological features combined with native connectivity to WeldEye welding management software to make the X8 MIG Welder a unique and powerful tool for demanding industrial welding. The digital WPS and wireless control pad also enhance the solution’s usability to a new level and make printed WPS documents unnecessary.

“Integration and connectivity is essential in future welding. The universal, cloud-based WeldEye software is compatible with any brand’s welding equipment, is accessible anywhere and is always up-to-date with support to ISO, ASME and AWS standards,” says Pillay.
