Clean oil means great savings, grateful nature
Lubricating the pistons of industry is a passion for established hydraulics company CT Hydraulics (Nqoba) that not only believes that keeping oil clean is key to running an efficient operation, but also keeping components spotless from within is vital.
Founded in 1979, the Germiston-based company specialises in the design, manufacture and reconditioning of all hydraulic cylinders and components. The company is also the agent and distributor for Roquet valves, Cartridge valves, RRR bypass oil cleaning units and Airmate cleaning systems.
“In the hydraulics industry, more than 70% of spare parts sold for equipment is to replace defective components. The cause of 90% of these defects can be traced to dirty oil, improper operation and maintenance,” says CT Hydraulics sales manager Dustin Triegaardt.
“One proactive move can save you thousands and maximise component life,” he adds.
The Triple R is a “unique” filter system that is designed to help solve problems, save money and contribute to environmental conservation. The units are designed to remove solid particles, sludge and water with the use of one filter element.
Triegaardt notes that its products are designed to provide solutions that reflect the essentials of its brand – to reduce, to reuse and to recycle.
“Triple R strongly believes in everyone’s duty to help protect our environment, preserving it for future generations. Environmental responsibility is central to everything we do – a fitting mission for a company specialising in filtration and separation systems,” he says.
Triple R has systems for engines, lubricating systems, all hydraulic installations, turbines and compressors.
Another of its agencies, Airmate, keeps piping systems clean from within. The Pellet Launcher fires a foam pellet through hoses, tubes or pipes. When propelled through the line, the pellet cleans and wipes the internal surfaces forcing the contamination out of the open end.
CT Hydraulics strongly believes that every cent spent must be a return on investment. Quoting several studies, the company states that carefully planned oil management can deliver savings of up to 80% in oil-related costs.
“Imagine what your return on investment will be and calculate that on the basis of your machine cost and your machine availability how much you can actually save,” says Triegaardt.
CT Hydraulics is a Level 4 broad-based black economic-empowerment company and also boasts SABS ISO 9001:2015 certification for which it obtained approval in July 2018, 24 years after the group was first granted the industry coveted SABS ISO 9001 and 9002 qualification.
Triegaardt comments that, in addition to its core business, the company established CT Fluid Power Training and Consultants in 1982.
“This company specialises in the practical training of personnel in hydraulic design, maintenance and repairs and is an essential component in maintaining the highest efficiencies and profitability, while minimising costs,” he says.
To complement the fluid power field, the company also supplies flow, temperature and pressure metering equipment to give quantitative information of the process.
