Schneider Electric’s SpaceLogic Living Space PM sensors redefine indoor air quality management
Schneider Electric South Africa, a leading provider of energy management and automation solutions, carries the full range of SpaceLogic Living Space Particulate Matter (PM) Series sensors, which redefine indoor air quality management.
Providing comprehensive particulate matter monitoring, these PM sensors elevate the standard for commercial buildings, not only helping to optimise energy efficiency but also safeguarding the health and well-being of occupants.
Mark Freeman, Offer Manager, Digital Building for Anglophone Africa at Schneider Electric, notes that the SpaceLogic Living Space PM sensor range is compatible with any Building Management System (BMS) and can be integrated with third-party systems via multiple
selectable outputs, namely Analogue, Protocol-BACnet and Modbus). This all-in-one sensor simplifies the process of updating existing buildings.
Comprehensive sensing solutions
“Our advanced air quality sensors are designed to provide comprehensive sensing solutions for both residential and commercial spaces, ensuring a healthier and more comfortable environment for occupants,” he says.
“These units monitor air quality parameters accurately and can detect issues early, helping to mitigate health risks. The CO2 and particulate matter (PM) indicator on our touchscreen models provides real-time visibility of air quality levels, ensuring optimal environmental conditions.”
The SpaceLogic PM Series comprises a versatile, multi-sensor platform available in both optimum and medium housing configurations. These sensors are specifically designed to enhance occupant well-being while also increasing comfort and optimising energy savings.
By employing performance analytics to optimise HVAC systems, these units significantly contribute to sustainability initiatives and efforts toward decarbonisation.
Freeman explains that the Living Space PM Series offers a versatile, multi-sensor platform that can measure particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), temperature, humidity, CO2 and Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels.
Output options
Each sensor converts a measurement into one of the following output options:
• Analog output: 4-20 mA, 0 to 5 Vdc or 0 to 10 Vdc
• Protocol output: BACnet and Modbus via RS-485
“The Living Space PM Series is available in both optimum and medium ranges, based on application requirements and budget. Screwless terminal block wiring and automatic calibration significantly reduce both installation and maintenance costs. The Ready-Connect plug-and-play feature further streamlines the commissioning process, enhancing overall efficiency,” says Freeman.
“We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that enhance air quality and occupant comfort. Our Living Space PM Series sensors reflect our dedication to providing reliable and flexible sensing solutions for various applications.”
