South Africa must implement inward and outward economic models quickly, smartly

Change is the word that sums up today’s world. Disruptive geopolitical change, global attitudinal change and concerning climate change are demanding internal and external advances and retreats. In the circumstances, South Africa should turn inwards when it is economically beneficial to do so, and outwards in left, right and centre fashion to clinch export arrangements.

Every mineral, agricultural and tourism opportunity needs to be fully taken up and every domestic business case that halts the outflow of foreign exchange must be supported to the hilt. Some countries are going all out to embracing Africa as a form of insurance against trade war impacts, and South Africa needs to return that embrace quickly and smartly to attract as much inward foreign investment as possible.
