Precious metals streaming company Wheaton Precious Metals has announced several senior management promotions as it prepares for what it describes as a new phase of transformative growth.

Haytham Hodaly, currently senior VP of corporate development, has been appointed president of the company, effective June 30. Curt Bernardi, senior VP legal and strategic development, will be promoted to executive VP, strategy and general counsel. Randy Smallwood remains CEO.

“Haytham and Curt have played a pivotal role in shaping Wheaton’s success to date, and their well-deserved promotions reflect the strength of their leadership in establishing our sector leading growth profile,” said Smallwood. “As we enter a new phase of transformative growth, their leadership will be instrumental, and I look forward to continuing to lead the company while supporting our shared vision and the future that we will be building together.”

Hodaly joined Wheaton in 2012 and has played a central role in executing more than $10-billion in streaming transactions, significantly contributing to the company’s expansion. “I am truly honoured to step into the role of president and continue building on our remarkable legacy with Randy and the rest of the Wheaton team,” said Hodaly. “Our strength lies in our exceptional team, a culture grounded in integrity and innovation, and a clear vision for the future.”

In addition to the senior promotions, Wheaton has made several other leadership changes. Neil Burns, currently VP of technical services, will assume the role of VP of corporate development. Tamara Howarth, who has served as VP of legal, has been appointed VP of legal and people. The company has also appointed Patrick Deutscher, formerly with McCarthy Tétrault, as VP of legal transactions.
