A-OSH Expo will showcase latest innovations and technology
PROTECTIVE WEAR A-OSH Expo will feature exhibitors that offer tailor-made products and services for the mining industry
The ninth edition of Africa’s leading occupational health and safety expo – A-OSH Expo –will provide the ideal platform for companies to demonstrate the latest innovations and technologies from the personal protective equipment and occupational health sectors.
A-OSH Expo is organised by trade show organiser Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery and will be held from May 14 to 16 at the Gallagher Convention Centre, in Johannesburg.
“Over three days, managers responsible for stakeholders in the mining sector can speak to industry leaders and learn how to best prepare for safety hazards, prevent incidents and protect their stakeholders,” Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery portfolio director Sven Smit tells Mining Weekly.
A-OSH Expo will feature exhibitors that offer tailor-made products and services for the mining industry.
The security and firetrade exhibition Securex South Africa, and the Facilities Management Expo will be colocated with the A-OSH Expo and will focus on security, as well as products and services associated with property and building management and maintenance.
Smit points out that visitors will, for the first time, have access to five free-to-attend seminar theatres at A-OSH Expo, Securex South Africa and Facilities Management Expo.
These theatres will focus on occupational health and safety (OHS), safely practising working at height and cybersecurity, as well as security and facilities management.
A-OSH Expo’s free seminar theatre is sponsored by nonprofit organisation the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
The theatre will host sessions during which specific topics associated with the mining industry will be discussed, including women in mining, presented by governance, risk and compliance specialist Dr Natalie Skeepers, as well as amendments to the OHS Act, presented by national Department of Labour chief inspector Tibor Szana.
More than 120 exhibitors from different sectors in the OHS industry and 3 600 visitors from 21 countries are expected to attend the events.
