Copper consolidator ACG Metals has confirmed it is in the preliminary stages of evaluating a potential offer for the entire issued and to-be-issued share capital of London-listed Anglo Asian Mining.

Anglo Asian is a gold, copper and silver producer primarily focused in Azerbaijan.

The discussions are early stage and the prospective suitor has until 17:00 on December 24 to announce a formal bid or withdraw, in line with UK takeover rules.

ACG noted that the announcement was made without the agreement or approval of Anglo Asian.
