Barminco wins A$300m underground contract at Ramelius’ Dalgaranga project
Perenti’s underground mining arm, Barminco, has secured a four-year contract worth about A$300-million to provide underground mining services at Ramelius Resources’ Dalgaranga gold project in Western Australia.
The award follows Barminco’s completion of an underground exploration decline at Dalgaranga, which enabled in-fill and mineralisation extension drilling. That decline will now transition to supporting production and further development.
The contract covers underground development, production and related mining services over a 48-month term, with a 12-month option to extend. Perenti said about $16-million of growth capital would be required in the 2026 financial year to support the work, which has already been included in its guidance.
“Securing a four-year contract for underground mining at the Dalgaranga gold project is another strong result for Barminco. Several recent regional contract wins have built additional scale for the Barminco Australia business, which ultimately delivers benefits for both our clients and shareholders,” said Perenti MD and CEO Mark Norwell.
“The Dalgaranga project will further support our Australian earnings and sustainable cash generation. We look forward to delivering enduring value and certainty for Ramelius and appreciate the opportunity,” he added.
Gabrielle Iwanow, Perenti’s president of contract mining, said the award validated the company’s earlier work on site. “I’m proud of the Barminco team for the successful contract award for development and production at Dalgaranga for Ramelius. The longer-term contract is validation of the high-quality work that has been completed at Dalgaranga to date. I look forward to the Barminco team continuing to deliver safe and reliable production for Ramelius for years ahead.”
Dalgaranga, about 65 km north-west of Mt Magnet, was acquired by Ramelius through its takeover of Spartan Resources.
