Firm unveils latest product industrial applications
EFFICIENCY EMPHASIS Senseca South Africa asserts that its new FF series valve is well placed to increase efficiency to various industry applications
Industrial sensor and technology company, Senseca South Africa recently unveiled its FF series of flow switches for water, oil, gas and industrial applications, as well as for general industry where pump protection is required.
The company says that its 200-bar pressure and piston valve seat design make it a distinctive flow switch for a multitude of industrial applications. It also avers to the convenience of the mechanical operating principle of the piston valve seat design in that it saves space and can be used and installed for high unit counts. In addition, the flow meter FF design is “practically maintenance free” across all applications.
“The volume flow raises a piston, fitted with a magnet, out from a valve seat against a spring force. The stroke causes a change in the magnetic field, where a hermetically-isolated Reed switch is actuated, and an electrical signal is generated. With spring-assisted stabilisation of the piston, use in all installation positions is possible,” notes Senseca South Africa MD Jan Grobler.
He adds that the vertical positioning of the Reed switch adjusted at the factory enables flow rates from about 2% to 60% of the recommended maximum volume.
Grobler asserts that the FF series of flow switches presents the largest switching value selection and the widest housing spectrum with a valve seat design. The cost-effective nature of the flow switch is said to improve system safety.
The FF flow switch series comprises housing sizes for nominal pipe widths from DN8 to DN50 and freely selectable switching values from 0.41 ℓ/m. This is underscored by the rapid reaction times, within milliseconds, which enables a swift actuation time for applications. Further, the high switching value repeat accuracy ensures a minimal pressure loss of less than 0.1 bar, which is an additional feature of the flow switch.
“The FF series of flow switches suit high-pressure cleaning technology applications as they are available in various housing sizes and are in fact suitable for applications within any sector where water, oils and gas are processed,” Grobler explains.
The company highlights that frequent contamination situations arise owing to sediments and other ordinary content in the water, thus illustrating the need for filtration as a design feature.
“The simplistic design of the piston valve reduces maintenance substantially, making it a preferred choice for applications where flow measurement is required. The FF flow switch offers a space-saving solution for high unit counts, high efficiency and has a tamperproof switching value, offering high system safety,” Grobler asserts. The FF flow switch enables horizontal flow through the housing where the vertical design is highly resistant to water contaminants.
Senseca asserts that the FF flow switch can be ordered to meet specific customer requirements.
“You order, we adjust. Senseca assures [clients] that [their] applications run exactly the way [they] want [them] to. Individual and tamperproof. Many industrial applications will benefit from the FF flow switch series. It is uniquely flexible, highly accurate with low costings, making it a preferred choice for flow monitoring applications,” Grobler concludes.
